IOWA? I haven't heard of that developer. Does it handle TMAX-100 as well as XTOL does? From your question, it appears that it can be used for both b&w AND color. Cool! Who makes it, and where can I get it?

Jules, many pros use American Color Imaging. They are at 715 E 18th

St. Cedar Falls, IA 50613. You can call them at 800-728-2722 for

information. They have a web site at www.acilab.com

If you happen to live in the Davenport area, the best place is Boyd

Fitzgerald. I use them for all my commerical work. Their work is

always on the money. They make me look good. I think they are the

best. They cost a bit more than American, but they are far more

convenient to work with. The phone number is 319-359-9010.

Warren, IOWA developer is not available commercially. You can mix a liter for yourself as follows: 500ml hydrochloric acid; 250ml Miracle Grow for Tomatos, mixed 1 tbs per gallon; and 247ml of water from the Mississippi river. Add the juice of one Key lime and a dash of Tabasco. Begin development when the mixture begins to smoke, and end when it reaches 209 degrees F. Best used as a one-shot, since you won't get a second chance. Use for all irreplaceable black and white and color shots.

I live in Waterloo Iowa (which is right next to Cedar Falls) Both American Color in Cedar Falls and McKenna Professional Imaging in Waterloo will be able to help you. I have all my color 120 done at McKenna's and I really like there work.

Rob F - thank you for the IOWA developer recipe. though it yielded excellent B&W results, I cannot recommend it for colour work. I also do not recommend the lime at the development stage, preferring to add it to my Corona Cerveza based fixer. thanks for the tip.
