photographicsafaris
HI I have a small button release (I think) for an EOS 5 (I think) it would appear to screw into the remote release port and doesnt fit my eos3. Any input from you guys out there who know about or would like this? I cant find anything on the net for what it could be or that one does exits, but I have one and dont have aneed for it. continuity
Is this just the plastic cover? I have an eos a2e with a missing cover, if you wouldn't mind parting with it..
photographicsafaris
Sorry not just a plug. To clarify, it is a button (as in it has an electrical circuitry input) that is designed to go onto an eos camera, dont know which but suspect an eos 5. It has 3 pins on one side and the words canon japan on it on the depressing button side... Anyone come across it before, cos I havent?
PuppyDigs
Hmm, I've never seen one of those for Canon, and I've seen most of the doodads. I use a similar device with my FM3A and MD-12 motor drive. It screws into the remote release port and acts like a vertical release. Maybe it's a Japan only accessory (there's a panoramic screen that was available only in Japan). Sometimes the light’s all shining on me. Other times I can barely see. - Robert Hunter
eos 10 fan
There is a .pdf parts list for the EOS 5 here:
http://www.micro-tools.com/pdf/Canon/EOS%20A2.PDF
--
jimvanson
Graham...it looks like a legendary, sold only through CPS -- Canon Pro Service -- T90 vertical release button. I'd have to see the reverse side to be sure.
I wanna say "give it to me -- it's worthless" but that ain't the case.
If it is a T90 vertical release it's worth big bucks on ebay -- say $50 to $100.
Will it work with any other Canon? Sorry, I can't help you there.
Email me if you want to get rid of it, Santa.
straightarm
In the UK these were availible in most good Canon dealers. If memory serves me correctly, I paid about GBP10 in Tecno in late 1990 for one of these. I originally bought mine for my T90 and kept it along with the remote release when I switched to the EOS range. It's compatable with any T or E series camera that use the T remote connection
photographicsafaris
I have managed to confirm and as suspected it is the verticle shutter release for an EOS 5, as to whether or not it will go onto the t90... I will try to establish. So santa, How many beers is it worth?
