Travleing to Thailand with 120 Film

I am heading to Thailand and am taking both 35mm and 120 film. With

the 35mm, I know to take them out of the boxes and place all the

cannisters (with film inside) in a plastic bag, but for 120, I'm not

sure on the best method. I've taken the 120 film out of the boxes,

but can I leave the film in the metalic-plastic wrappers?

Leave them in the wrappers, this protects them (slightly) from variations in

temperature and dust. Plus when you stick your hand in the bag for a new roll it's

easier to discern between shot and fresh film.

When hand-checking your film at the airport on the way out, you made be

unlucky enough to get the really uptight guy who makes you unpack all the the foils

though. Never mind.

if you take a Kodak (black) 35mm film canister and cut out the bottom, you can fit it into an Ilford 35mm film canister (the Ilford canisters are a little large in diameter, just enough to provide a snug fit for the kodak canister) - by doing so, you can create an inexpensive and effective 120mm film canister to protect your exposed film.
