mark_peters
Just received a used MD-12 in great physical shape from a reputable camera broker in Long Island. I think it is working fine except the ONLY time the pilot lamp is illuminated is when the shutter is fired. Shouldn't the pilot lamp come on whenever the power switch for the unit is on and not just during the moment of shutter release?
alan_olander1
That's the only time the light on my MD-12 comes on, too. I don't think there's anything wrong with it.

mskovacs
I don't have an MD-12, but in the manual for the MD-4 they say the light is to let you know that the motor fired when you are using a remote system.
mark_cooke
Absolutely right, and the pilot will also light up once you are at the end of film until you depress the film rewind button, cheers Mark
