james mitchell dc
I will give one dollar for each person who posts a post and posts it unerneath itself.
andrew n.bra hrefhttp
Am I alone in thinking that the photo.net server back-end is very poorly executed? There's a major outtage here at least twice a week. If it isn't the hardware, then it's the Oracle database. Sheesh.
edward_deangelis
You are not alone Andrew.
todd frederick
I was so distressed by the outage that I read all the fine sites the photo.net team posted, and, after that, I actually had to go outside and take some photos to keep myself from total disintegration! peter_n1664876959
Already posted this in the wrong forum, which just shows what happens when you're away for a day but.... They lost the whole site database when the RAID array containing it croaked. It is thought that all the new equipment they recently purchased has raised the ambient temperature, and that together with the extra heat generated in the Leica forum recently caused the hardware failure in the photo.net cabinet inside the host data center. ;)
al_kaplan1
Whatever the cause, they got it up and running, and it seems to be operating faster than before. Thanks guys!

lutz
Faster than EVVVER before - must have been a thorough spring cleaning. If a day offline can buy me 24 hours of time savings while online in the course of the year I'm in favour of regular outages. ;-)
kajabbi
Having had to give up Booze and tobacco was easy compared to being denied a day of this forum. Thanks for putting those news itams while the site was down. They got me through(barely).
fay_cori
You don't realise how much you love it until you don't have it! I felt quite lost without my daily fix of forum chat. However, I might not have seen the great 'Awards' photos without those helpful links.
