gorka_ibanez
Hi! I am planing to go travelling around Asia and Australasia for the next two years and I am looking for some kind of insurance for my photography acquitment. I found a few companies catering the U.K. but they don't offer their service to the residents of the Republic of Ireland. Anybody knows where can I get one? Thanks
gearoid_osullivan
Hi there Gorka, I've been looking for this info too, but no-one I ask in Cork seems any the wiser. I will be speaking to a couple of professionals today or tomorrow hopefully and I'll ask them what they do. But I have a feeling it is different for pros since it is thier livelihood, and the equipment is expensive. Hope somebody else has an idea Good luck, GEAROID
walter_strong3
After the results of the latest election I'm wondering if you'll be able to buy ANY KIND of insurance in Ireland!
gearoid_osullivan
Hi again Gorka, the people I asked have their equipment insured under a business policy since it is their job. I have also contacted a few insurance brokers and they are looking into it for me. I'll know sometihng more tomorrow. I got the impression that the only way they knew of is to have the equipment listed under a household policy under all risks. For costly individual items it requires giving them an itemised list and approx evaluation. No-one seemed to know of a way to insure my personal camera equipment seperately (since it is only a hobby). Hopefully I'll have more answers tomorrow. All the best, G
