andrew_frith
Just wondering if anyone has used screw-in filters for a 610 apo- nikkor? if so, is it a 105mm filter size? thread pitch? thanks -andrew
s.k. grimes inc
The 610 Apo-Nikkor takes 95mm filters. The thread spec is M95x.1.0. Adam @ SKG

jco
Last 105mm filter sized lens I had was the super-angulon 165mm F8. Filters that size cost about $175 each which is out of the question for me. I ended up buying a set of military surplus Kodak 109mm filters and making a custom holder for them , worked to perfection and only cost me $50 total for 4 filters. s.k. grimes inc
Good Day Andrew, The two 610 Apo's I measured in shop had a 95mm filter thread, but I wouldn't be surprised if they made one with a 105mm. If it is a 105, the thread pitch would be 1.0. The way in which the 610 is designed could lend itself to having multiple threaded fronts. The optics are contained in a housing which is seperate from the front "deco name ring." With most Apo Nikkors, if you were to remove the front retaining ring, the glass could be taken out. With a 610, once you remove the front ring, you discover the elements are still contained in a seperate housing. My point... it would be easily for Nikon to make 610's with different filter threads without completely redesigning the front cell.
