Borderless Printing: Why Some Papers, Not Others?

Recommended Posts

Hi Richard, This is just a guess, but when a printer makes a borderless print, there's a certain amount of over-spray involved. I suspect some papers absorb better than others and the ones that don't absorb well could conceivably cause more ink to build up inside your printer. FWIW, I've read some people's opinion that it's best to avoid borderless prints altogether, even when the printer supports it, because of waste and possible ink build-up. They say chop it later with a cutting board, which is what I do. Best wishes . . .

<p class=MsoNormal>Epson used to have a gimmick they called borderless printing

Richard,

I'm printing borderless prints with all sizes on my 1280. I just check the borderless box, it seems to work fine with the Epson papers I'm using (including the 8.5x11 Premium Glossy Photo Paper I use), even though a few are not marked as borderless.
