unohuu
I am searching for a long macro lens for Minolta Maxxum. I know that Sigma makes a few 180mm lenses, but I want to avoid compatibilitiy issues with Maxxum 78. Question simply put is are there other 3rd party manufacturers that make a long macro lens? paulfisher
I'd second the recommendation for the Tamron. Having said that I know it works great on a Nikon but can't vouch for it on a Minolta.
michael_hohner
The current Tamron and Sigma lenses are compatible with the 7. However, there is no guarantee that they will be compatible with future bodies. When you want to avoid compatibility problems, get the Minolta 200/4 APO Macro G. It also has the advantage to fit the Minolta APO TCs, so you can get high quality 1.4:1 and 2:1 magnification with these.
