marc_schmidtmayer
Hi, I tried to look for an answer in the 'archives', but coudn't find what I was looking for ... So, I'm trying my Epson 3200 out and I was scanning some 35mm B&W negatives ... BUT it DOESN'T scan the complete negative ! Though, the complete negative is visible in the film holder ... I use the Epson software. Also with the scanner is the SilverFast-software ... but I don't get decent results with SilverFast ! So, why is it and what can I do because I need the space that he cuts off ... Thanks, Marc.
bojan_steinb_cher
Epson 3200 can scan the complete negative, but unfortunately not in thumbnail mode. Switch to the (Normal?) mode and crop scan area manually. The phenomena occurs in scanning just about everything, but it's very noticeable only with 35 mm film. upscan
Marc: with the E3200 I would not bother with 35mm. The 3200 resolution claimed is a myth, so once you get the whole scan you will be disapponted. Waste of time. As for Silverfast, if you have the full version 6ai it is the best software in the market bar none. You must spend a little time to master it though as it is more complex, and capable than the Epson software.
