douglas_colton
My 50mm Mk II lens manual focus is very sticky towards the close-focus end. Is there any remedy for this, or is it time to get a new one?

yakim_peled1
Sorry. Can't help either of you. Mine served me without any problems for 11 years. How about just getting it to the nearest Canon lab and ask ? Happy shooting , Yakim.
bradley_smith
Yakim, not a 50mm Mk II surely? You must mean a Mark 1?
douglas_colton
Thanks for the responses. The Canon service centre said while it may be possible to repair the lens, it is probably not worthwhile considering the low cost of a new one. Reading the previous threads makes it clear that one has to be very careful not to bump the Mk II against anything, you might even end up with two pieces, not just sticky focussing!
