andry_hermawan
I'm interested with tamron 28-75 Di f2.8, but not sure with the performance. Any inputs?BTW, I have D100 with nikkor 50 f1.8 & 70-300 sigma APO, and will get either nikkor 24 f2.8 or sigma 20 f1.8 ex (any comment?). I need great zoom between 28-100 range, and this tamron crosses my mind.I'm new in SLR world.thanks a lot in advance.Cheers....Andry
Jerry_
The Tamron (built in Japan) seems to do well on film (digital camera performance is unknown to me....) Please check http://www.photo.net/photo/1909584 and you can see one image taken with the lens I purchased used.
andry_hermawan
Thanks Gerald, I like your pics - nice color, it looks sharp. but i'm not sure, because the pics is too small. only you can answer it, is it sharp? If it is at any zoom range, I would buy it, at least as sharp as my sony mavica. rgds, Andry
at
In a single word....Outstanding! I recently purchased a Tamron 180 f3.5 Macro lens. Had to wait three weeks for my local dealer to finally get one. It is incredibly sharp, has excellent contrast and has produced some of the best macro shots I've ever taken. I cant speak directly for the 28-70 but if we take a small leap of faith that both of these new lenses are from the same family I would expect equally great results. Actually both of these lens' were tested in a magazine I just bought. The pictures in the mag looked preatty darn good (reproduction lost some resolution I'm sure). Again, my first hand experience with the new 180 DI macro has been great. It equals my Nikon 60mm and my Nikon 70-180 macro (a true macro). Hope that helps alittle.
