alex z f
I have acquired a Zeiss Contessa Folder. It seems to work but won't know for sure until I run some film through it. Meter appears to work but I'll probably get the VC meter (which I can also use with my Leica IIIf). Anticipating that a CLA or other service will be required (It has not been used for years and shows little sign of any use)can anyone help me locate a repair person who specialises in these cameras? This appears to be the 53-55 version with a Tessar 45 F2.8. Gandy's site is gaga about this camera and it does feel very well built. Thanks for your help Alex F. furcafe
BTW, as I posted in Mike Elek's Contina thread (http://www.photo.net/bboard/q-and-a-fetch-msg?msg_id=006Z1J), the Contessa was my 1st all-manual 35mm camera & still a favorite. marco_vera1
The contessa with it's four Element Tessar is a rather simple folder. Any competent camera repair person should be able to give it a CLA without any problems. I did mine myself and I am not a technician.
