karl_schimmel
I've search here and at the Kiev report and cannot find info or a link to info on how to modify a Kiev back to fit BOTH a Hassey 500 and Kiev 88 body, other than to buy one from a factory vendor or have them modify it. thanks Karl
don_feinberg2
Very simple answer: you can't, and they don't. Don Feinbergdonf@cybernex.net
blueviews
I don't think Don was quite correct. I know that Hartblei sells film backs (the FM12NT or the FM16NT) that fit both Kiev and Hasselblad for about $160 U.S. www.hartblei.com Bill
joseph_albert
Kiev USA sells Kiev backs that fit a hasselblad. I don't think these modified backs still fit the Kiev 88, however.
kelvin lee
The Kiev backs don't fit the Hassy 500 or 2-series. The Hartblei back come in both Kiev and Hassy flavours. However, if I am not wrong (because I haven't tried it), the old Hassy 12 (pre-A12) backs may fit Kiev. Theoratically , the Kiev backs may fit the old Hassy 1000F , and possibly the Hassy 500C but not later models, but I can't verify this.
brandon_jackson
The deal here is (I believe) is that Hartblei modifies their Kiev's and Hartblei models to take a Hasselblad compatible back. If you check their price lists, you will see that you can buy their backs to fit their modified cameras and blad's or you can buy Kiev types that fit the standard kiev fitting. Also, it is true that very old blad backs that fit the 1000 and 1600F models will indeed fit the Kiev system (and Salyut) bodies. -Brandon
chauncey_l._walden
Just as a point, the 1600F and Kiev 88 I had would not interchange backs. As I remember, one was an innie and the other an outie, or something like that.
