leicamshooter
Does anyone know of an alternative hood-cap I can use for the current collapsible F2.8/50mm. I use this hood on my tabbed late model 50mm summicron, but have no hood cap for it. The leica hood- cap is about the same price of the hood, so I thought someone out there might have another solution, or will I have to just accept it and pay the $$$ for the appropriate hood? Will any 42mm push-on hood work? Thank you all for your help. Have a good day.
charles barcellona www.bl
Go here: http://www.stores.ebay.com/americaneaglefiltersaccessories/plistings/list/all/dept3/index.html?dir=-1&col=2&sotimedisplay=2 At "two caps for twelve bux" - can't hardly complain. Use one with a silly cap keeper thing, and keep the other pristine in case you sell the lens. They sell Leica caps in generic boxes. These are either Leica caps, or outrageous copies, because they look, feel, smell, taste like the "real McCoy". I've gotten replacement caps from them, they're a pleasure to deal with. leicamshooter
Hey... Thanks, these should work fine!
jay_.
Those caps are a great price but to answer the original question, the OEM 39mm snap-cap will also fit into the Elmar screw-in shade and it's a lot more secure than the push-on type. andrew n.bra hrefhttp
Drop into any telescope/binoculars store and get a few push-on plastic 42mm caps. (They are used as eyepeice covers.) They are like $1 each - although if the store owner is a bit of a photo-head then you can usually get them for free. :?)
