payyakkil
Once I connect the 50mm 1.8 AFD on the BR-2A and after mounting it on my F80, F80 shows only the shutter speed. It does not show the aperture value. So, how do I meter? I mean I can set the aperture using the aperture ring. But how do I know what shutter speed I should use for getting proper exposure for that aperture? Is using an external light meter the only option? david_h._hartman
With a hand held meter my friend. Youll need to usemanual exposure mode. I dont own an F80/N80 but Iunderstand that TTL flash works with such a setup. Try setting yourshutter speed to 1/125th, turn on the flash and try apertures fromf/8.0 to f/22; take notes, see what happens. If you are in theflashes range best the image quality with DOF should be aboutf/11.

You can use a hand held meter for ambient light but remember to use exposure compensation.

Exposure Factor = (1+Image Scale)^2. As an example 1/2 life sizeis an image scale of 0.5 and life size is 1.0.

Stops Correction = LOG(Exposure Factor)/0.3

I think I got that right but Im half asleep.

Regards,

Dave. parimal_rakesh
i have used a similar arrangement(F70,20mm, BR-2A, BR-5) and have noticed the two frustrating dashes in place of the aperture value. after spending a lot of time trying to figure it out, realised it has something to do with the fact that the electrical contacts have been reversed. since i didn't have a handheld meter, i just used another camera with a spot meter. payyakkil
I dont have an extnernal meter. And definitely no spare body. So, I gues, I will have to meter first and then reverse the lens.
