larrydressler
Hi I am new here and I have been out of the darkroom hobby for over 20 years. I recently decided to get a new setup for the family and make it a family affair. I used to use tri-x and d-76 or HC-110 back in the olden days. Here is my question. My wife bless her soul got a large supply of Zonal Pro Gamma Plus Film Developer doing us a favor. and I have no idea of what type of devloper it is. I have a supply of Tri-X and HP5 plus in 35 mm any ideas on dilutions times and how good this stuff is? Thanks
mike_scarpitti
Is it fresh? That's the main concern. The dev times for most films should be included with the packaging.

robert_davis2
I'd avoid the 1:17 dilution. That part of the chart looks like a typo.
larrydressler
Yes it is brand new and it looks like I have enough to make about 1 gallon of stock solution. I have the chart you gave but thank you it is just that I have never used it is it like HC-110 or D-76? I heard it was a Pyro type so is there any stain? robert_davis2
It doesn't mention any stain so I'd assume not.
jon_porter1
It's a good conventional developer, similar to Ilfosol. I used it for a while with 35mm Tmax 100 and got excellent negs. I didn't care for the results with Tri-X, the only other film I tried with it, so it may be that it's better suited for slower film. I don't consider it a fine-grain developer, but sharpness is very good.
