Kiev 60 - Can they take interchangable screens

That must be a very old Kiev 60, as the few I had 4 or 5 years ago all came with a split image screens. In fact, one of mine had a diagonal split image, a style I find to be better than the more common horizontal split image. I ended up disliking the whole Kiev system with a passion after numerous unsolveable troubles, but that diaganal split image screen was one of the easiest to focus screens I've ever used. I wish the one in my Pentax 645 was designed that way.

The screens can be changed by removing the top of the camera body and a few retaining screws.

Actually, I have the later screen with the split rangefinder in the center. If yours is the basic matter, or just has a fresnel center, I'd love to trade you! My 250/f5.6 lens blacks out the rangefinder badly, and I've always prefered the plain matte screens. Write to me if you're interested at bemus@altavista.com
