mr_eamonn_brennan
Hi all, keen on a this lens secondhand appx £150 good for portraits ? I am amateur disappointed with digital and think this could be a useful lens to have for the price of a teleconverter. Any comments Eamonn Brennan
jay_.
I know Hasselblad equipment has been dropping in price, but I'd still be very suspicious of a 150CF for approx $250US. It should be 3-4 times that much. I would check it out *very carefully*.
nick_wilson2
I second Jay's word of caution (offers that seem too good to be true often are), but if all legit then the 150 is a good portrait lens as it has the mild 'flattening' of a short telephoto. A 150 is a classic 'second' lens for hasselblad, if you don't want wide angle as a priority. Might not get in quite close enough for some ultra-tight portrait shots without a small extension tube. All 'blad lenses are worth buying secondhand, but see if everything is working (shutter etc). You need a camera body and back too! I assume you have them?! db1
I've been watching 150CF lenses on that great big auction site we are not supposed to mention here on photo.net and beautiful lenses have been selling anywhere from $750 to $1000 and this usually includes a UV filter and/or hood. The older 150 C lenses have been going for $400-$600 depending on condition and sucker type. good luck.
brian_keller
Is there any reason to not buy the CT* lens for a cheaper price? I assume optics are the same?
tarashnat
Brian, Some may not be able to get used to the normally interlocked shutter speed and aperture rings. Taras
