neal_vaughan
What is the required modication to be able to use the n90 with the vertical grip? Can you do it at home, or is it a major modification? How much does it cost if you have done it?
tony_gorell1
Neal, I had my F90 converted by Australia's Nikon distributor about 3 years ago. It is certainly not a home modification - requiring the installation of several contacts. Without the modification, the MB-10 is just a large battery pack which will power the camera. With the modification, the vertical release button works fine. It cost about $175 Australian. Note: The camera is still an F90/N90 in terms of metering/speed - not the later F90X which the MB-10 was designed for.
steve_daggs
Neal, I modified the MB-10 to work on my N8008 with a few parts from Radio Shack and some "homemade" parts. I have the schematic for the contacts at home. I got some of the info I needed from another "Photo.netter" and will try to find that info as well. It is a bit crude, but has worked flawlessly for 2-3 years. The modification should work for the N90 as well. Steve Daggs
