kajabbi
For those purists who do their own developing. Neofin Blue developer is now available, along with Efke 25(adox 14) film at Fotoimpex U.S.A.(J and C Photo). Neofin Blue is outstanding on PanF as well. cabophoto
Ned, yes, Neofin Blue gives excelent tonality with Pan F+ (and Delta 100). However, the grain gets significantly bigger than with, say, ID 11. Carsten http://www.cabophoto.com/
kajabbi
Hi Carsten, I agree but, with finer grain developers comes a loss of sharpness. With those films, you would have to be producing wall murals to see a significant difference. With those sized enlargements, camera motion would a more deciding factor. cabophoto
Ned, >>With those films, you would have to be producing wall murals to see a significant difference the difference is very visible in the 4000 dpi scans I make with my Canon FS4000US. For whatever reason the scans look much more grainy than a conventional print anyway. Carsten
joseph_walsh2
Ned, Carsten: Is grain really an issue with these slow films? I suppose it might be for 20" x 24" prints from 35mm. Otherwise, I would think tonality differences, if any, would be the issue. Where am i going wrong here? Does Neofin Blue have any other desirable properties v-a-v. EFKE 25? I shot my first roll of EFKE 25 and Ilford PanF last week with a Mamiya 7. Developed in 1-2 Xtol. At 16x20 I can barely find the grain with my Scoponet Grain Focuser. ole_tjugen
Just dropping in from another forum to say that Neofin and EFKE is a fantastic combination, which should be tried if only for the exceptional tonality.
