david_nebenzahl
There's a seller on a certain li'l old on-line auction site goes by the handle of "dagor77". Click here to see a current list of his auctions. Seems to be from Southern Cal.
So does anyone know this dude? His descriptions crack me up; right now, he's apparently vacationing (or working?) in Scotland, so he's offering little extra bonuses of "Scottish breakfast items" to winning bidders. He also seems quite knowledgable, and actively involved in, LF photography.
I just wish I could afford some of his stuff ...

chad_jarvis1
Andrew Glover. Good Guy. He's an accomplished photographer and printer but seems to do it (like most of us) just for the love of it. He should have been a 1950s pulp fiction writer. Great suggestion, Bob. donald_miller1
I have had a pleasant experience in buying from him. For the benefit of those who may be interested in dealing with Dagor 77.
nick_morris
A real gentleman, and a pleasure to do business with. I have bought from him, and have received useful information. He is very knowledgable (SP?), and helpful, with almost instant reponse to emails.
jim_galli4
A gentleman of scholarship and letters in this field who entertains us with the most delightful prevarications. I have bought from him several times and can attest that you can cheerfully leave a POS++ feedback before your item ever comes.

Troll
He is certainly a joy to do business with, and reading his adds brighten one's day. He is extremely honest in his descriptions, and I am unfortunately prevented from owning many of the really fine stuff he offers because it always seems to bring absolute top dollar (and then some). tim obrien
Went to the Highland Games last weekend in Pleasanton CA. Had that Iron Bru. Tastes like pink bubblegum. I.E. it sucks. But it is part of the Scotch experience. They also had Famous Grouse, two shots a day fer free. Now my budget only allows for Infamous Grouse ($6.25 1.5 litres). I like dagor77 and his EBay posts, but his reputation precludes ever getting a good deal. Too may people have him in their favorite search list so no bargains fall your way. The market rules. tim in san jose
adrian_tyler
it´s a political thing, scotland in the only country on the planet which has a soft drink that out-sells coca-cola: IRN-BRU. we drink it so as not to fall int to line with the new world vision, but you are FREE to drink your coke´s boys! jim_shanesy
I purchased my beloved 19" Red Dot Artar from Andrew after winning an Ebay auction. Easy, fast. Merchandise was as pristine as described. My best lens.

david_nebenzahl
By the way, another thing I like about "dagor77" is the starting price for all his auctions, which is invariably 77¢, whether it's a lousy lens cap or a Rolls-Royce of a 16" lens he's selling. I ran into another seller the other day, a guy goes by the handle of "cameraguy2" who owns a local photo store, who starts all his auctions at 1¢. Wish more sellers would do that, instead of being paranoid, thinking they're not going to get enough for the auction and setting too high a starting bid. tim obrien
David... "Ouch; don't say "Scotch"; it's Scottish. The former applies only to sticky tape and a certain fermented beverage." I know that. I was being as abrasive as several thousand demented skirt wearing Scotch were the other day. I actually went with a Scottish person who proceeded to spend a half a grand on a skirt. Men in Plaid... The last kilt you'll ever put on. Photo content... I took tons of B&W of caber tossing old gents and young women throwing 28 lb cans over their heads. And you think us Polish people are wierd? tim (bednarski) o'brien in san jose

joe_photo
Another vote for a nice guy and pleasure to do business with. I got a nice Wollensak enlarging lens recently at a nice price because no one else wanted it. The bargains are there. As for drinks, make mine Moxie..... skip_a
And another accolade for Dagor77. He's a great LF pusher and almost always seems to have what you need for your next LF fix!
john_kasaian1
David, At last count, Dagor 77 has provided me with two of my favorite lenses, a couple of books, and a case for my 5x7 Agfa. ----always great service and merchandise!

martin_reekie
Famous Grouse! None of this blended stuff. You should get a bottle of an excellent Orkney Single Malt Whisky. They have a fine drink especially for large format photographers called Highland Park, named after Edward Westons birthplace! http://www.highlandpark.co.uk/
struan_gray
The best thing about Irn-Bru is the adverts. My mother in law used to tape them and send them to us by way of soul food. There are few other beverages that can compete with a haggis supper. Avoid the Tunnock's wafers, although if he offers the tea cakes bid high.
