jerome_yesavage
I have just purchased a D10 and am generally happy with the results but one reason I got it was to use my $$$ 75-300 image stabilization lens. I have gotten some error messages that say the lens is not seated properly. I have cleaned the contacts, but think this is probably some interaction between the computer and the imagestabilizer and autofocus. The most likely way to set the error off seems to be to take continuous shots with the stabilizer on and set the focus to Al Servo... I can imagine what this requires for processing. Are there any insights or guidelines for guidance? Appreciate the help.
stefanovandelli
I have also noticed that in my setup, when I use the 28-135IS with the 10D in AI Servo the image occasionally will not be stable (even if I am not panning). No such problem with my EOS30. As I use AI Servo mainly when I am panning, this is not much of a problem as I would switch IS off anyway. Never had any errors though. hans_eckelman
I have both the 75-300 IS and 28-135 IS lenses with my 10D and have had no problems at all even with continuous shots in AI Servo. I've been doing a lot of baseball pictures with the 75-300 and have had zero problems.
andrew robertson
I have had no problems with the $$$$(!) 300 f/4 L IS. Maybe the problem here is that the IS on the 75-300 is the very oldest that Canon made, and the optics are pretty sub-par as well. Also, if you are using servo AF on a stationary target, handheld, you are asking for trouble anyway. The computer tries to compute the slight back and forth motion of your respiration and heartbeat into a movement vector which it can predict, but you just go the opposite way again much less than a second later. Call 1-800-USA-CANON and they'll help you out.
