richard baznik
I will be in Montreal next month and wonder if you have advice on shops there with a good selection of used LF gear. Thanks in advance.
michel legendre
I would not to wait too much from that visit regarding the possibility of buying used LF in Montreal. I'm presently looking for the same (I live in Montreal) and I only found one Linhof Technika at L.R.VIALA on DeMaisonneuve street(East). You could look at Simon's Camera on St-Antoine street but they had nothing until last week. Go to Photo-Services at 222 West Notre-Dame street in Old Montreal. If I have other ideas I will mention to you here. See you. Salut Michel
geoffrey_james
Richard, You would be better off asking for restaurant advice in that wonderful city. This is a Montrealer-in-exile speaking.
gauthier
On the other hand, some LF gear was offered on the billboard of my pro lab (Corlab, on Peel corner of Wellington). But for the rest, Michel is right, used LF gear is rare, even in the best addresses (he gave them to you). People either keep their stuff or sell it directly. Some (but not much LF gear is also sold during the photographic flea market (held thrice a year in April/May, September and November).
richard baznik
Thank you so much. As a result of the feedback, I approach the city with much more realistic expectations about LF gear -- but with a renewed appetite for good food and opportunities for exceptional images.
