don_wilkes
Does anyone know whether Fuji Quickloads (especially Acros or other B&W) for 4x5 are available anywhere in Yosemite? I'm heading down there, leaving Victoria B.C. Saturday, and the stopover I was planning on the way looks like it'll be out of the question. I have holders loaded with FP4, but was hoping for some Quickloads as well. Does Best's still exist?
steve_levine
You could overnight or 2nd day ship these from B&H to a motel along your route?
john_kasaian1
Don, Best's is now the Ansel Adams Gallery. They do carry film but I don't know about Quickloads. I you might be able to get them from Gasser's or Calumet in San Francisco if you're headed that way, or Pardee's in Sacramento if you're headed down I-5 or Hwy 99. Sorry I don't have telephone #s or website addresses, but it would be worth a search. Maybe someplace in Seattle?? Good Luck!

david_karp
Don, I was there a couple of weekends ago. The Ansel Adams Gallery (Best's) had T-Max 100 in sheets (at least one box), but no Easy Loads. No Acros Quickloads in 4x5. It would be better to get your film outside the park and drive it in with you.
david_goldfarb
Now there's a new income producing proposition. Do you think the Park Service will object if I hang out at the base of Half Dome with a with a big tray suspended from my neck like at sporting events shouting "Quickloads! Readyloads! Get your Quickloads right here! I got maps with all of Ansel's tripod holes marked for ten dollars! Acros! T-Max! Provia! Velvia! Right here!"? john_kasaian1
David, You'll have to come to an agreement with a Delaware North in order to do that!-----Cheers!;-)
dave_henry1
Hi Don, Camera Arts on "H" Street in Sacramento ( You'll have to call them for the street number) has both Kodak and Fuji. (916) 736-3084. They are the only pro oriented store in Sacramento and carry LF & MF equipment. The other store that sometimes has the film is Filco, 1433 Fulton Ave (916) 739-6021. Stockton is 45 minutes south of Sacramento on I-5 and Gluskin's Camera (another good store) has the film. 300 Lincoln Center Dr. (209) 477-5566. Have fun shooting. don_wilkes
Many thanks to all who made such good suggestions! It looks like Sacramento may be my best option. We're skirting Seattle (always a good idea) by going down the Olympic Peninsula, and will be too pushed for time (I think) to stop in Portland -- the ferry we catch to begin the trip doesn't leave here until 10:30 am. I find it hard to believe that I'll be standing in Yosemite Park come Tuesday. I've been daydreaming about this since 1975. Cheers, \donw
david_karp
Don, As good as all the great photographs are, you will be awed and amazed by the beauty. If you have enough time, make sure you spend some of it in the high country off the Tioga Road or the Glacier Point Road in addition to the valley. Have a great time.
