John Farrell
Were you trying to post in a thread, or in a gallery? I have been able to post an existing attachment in a thread, using "other media", "insert existing attachment" John Edited to add: I tried to upload a picture, and I see the error message you reported. I will advise the site administrator of your problem.

Tony Parsons
It appears that text posts still work. As a picture is worth a thousand words, one wonders who will be first with their thousand ? Maybe we need a 'One Thousand Words' topic to accompany the 'No Words' one ? Edited October 4 by Tony Parsons
Sandy Vongries
Don't know, but since spam is greatly reduced some adjustment to the spam filter may be involved. I have always hated and refused to engage in the "when in danger or in doubt, run in circles, scream and shout" drill.

Gadzooks, sirrah, that approach has got the British Army where it is today - that and NAAFI tea.
Tony Parsons
Well, the temporary hiatus enabled me to catch up on my sleep - which hadn't got far away. Welcome back, everyone (except the spammers, of course !)
dmanthree
I can't post images using Safari, but can using Chrome. Maybe a security feature in Safari?
ShunCheung
I am getting this error when posting certain JPEG images from Chrome, but no errors for some other JPEG images. At this point I don't know what works and what fails, but obviously I am able to post the following image.
Sandy Vongries
Reported it yesterday, it was present this morning, I was out for several hours and it appeared to be fixed. Was able to post then, but not just now again. No idea what the issue is - since there has been less spam, as I speculated earlier that might be involved. I downsized, pasted and used the choose file function.
ShunCheung
Somehow I am able to post this image from a Firefox browser, but not from Google Chrome. My computer is a Dell desktop PC, running Windows 11. 3
Jon Eckman
This is what I saw earlier during the day today, but it's clear others were able to post since then. Now I'm still getting the error message that Shun posted. I'm using a PC with Chrome and Windows 10. Edited October 5 by Jon Eckman .
ShunCheung
Jon, I got that page error with a huge photo.net logo dominating the page on Friday morning (US Pacific/California time zone). That lasted for a few hours but was corrected.
Sandy Vongries
Very strange - just a little while ago, I couldn't post and got the message. Just now was able to add to Smokestacks. I think the very large logo is up when they are working.
William Michael
I noted that the site was progressively running slower and at times returned error messages - this happened during the last 36~38 hours. During this time my access was, at times, restricted and sometimes disallowed. When I could log in, I saw evidence that work was being done. This work was at an access level beyond what my traits allow. It appears that changes have been made and it seems the work is now completed. *** I reckon it's very good that this "clean and service" has been done, so to whomever did it, thank you. Sandy Vongries
If you root around, there appear to be significant enhancements and updates. It make take a day or so (after the week end) to smooth things out. Personally, I am very pleased to see some new work and look forward to it completion.

ShunCheung
Now I am back on using Google Chrome, and I tried to upload several images. For whatever reason, some are successful and some are not. It doesn't seem to be related to file size (number of bytes). Obviously the following screen capture works.
Jon Eckman
Tried logging out and back in again as you suggested William and still got the same error message. Also tried copying the image once it was open and then pasting it to the thread - same result. I'll try again later.
