caliber_60
A dealer is going to sell me a old(not FW) Rollei-wide in box, in mint condition for $3,000. It's the body only , does not come with the viewfinder. Does the Rollei-wide sold new without the hood? If that's true, what the reason behind it? a m
The Rollei-wide used a rather odd hood. See the pictures from this eBay auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2948546284&category=3354&rd=1 I recommend you not accept it without the hood. $3000 is pretty steep here in the U.S., especially if it is incomplete. harry_zet
3000? ridiculous!
mark_eban
Actually if it were complete and MIB, USD3000 would be a steal. Incomplete, it becomes almost impossible to sell.
stephen_w.
Nice fondlee, old world craftmenship, probably begging for a CLA. Oh, and the non-retrofocus, old world crafted SWC can be had for the same $$$.
grepmat
You speak of the "hood" and of the "viewfinder." Those are very different animals. I have no direct experience, but I can still assure you that they came with a viewfinder! If it does not have its viewfinder, I would certainly not consider it. The lens hood, on the other hand, was likely an accessory, and they are probably very hard to find and quite expensive at this point. I'm relatively ignorant on the going price of these cameras, but it does sound fair if it's truly in "mint" condition. Cheers!
caliber_60
It's the viewfinder that's missing. Viewfinder goes on top of the camera that you look down to see the picture. Hood going price on ebay is $375 to $475.
