Fall color around Bishop

Searching for specific suggestions on shooting locations in October

around the Bishop area. Details appreciated. Also, I found and lost

a web site about a workshop in mid October in Bishop, anyone have a

link for this?

He is running a fall photography workshop out of Bishop. Unfortunately, I think it is full.

<p>Finding good places around Bishop is easy. Just pick a road heading toward the Sierra Nevada and go for it. There aren't that many to choose from anyway.

 

<p>If you have time you owe it to yourself to go to the Bristlecone Pine National Forest while you're in the area. There aren't any leaves changing colors up there, but the light is fantastic that time of year, and you can see the Eastern Sierra from the ridge tops. This would be a good way to scout for color while taking photos of the ancient trees.

In Bishop take highway 168 west to Lake Sabrina and South Lake. Two years ago I was there in early November and the lakes had just received a nice dusting of early snow the preceeding night.
