maurice_bryant
I'd like to thank everyone for answering my concerns regarding the so- called "Digital Revolution". You've all given me hope (that the money I've blown on new lenses, etc. wasn't spent in vain, and that my Kowa Super 66 still has a lease on life). <p> I am on a new quest; Does anyone know where I could get either a Diagonal or Horizontal focusing screen for my Kowa 66? I scour the web weekly, but the only thing that I have turned up is the "Clear Spot II", which I already have. I have seen a split focus screen for the Kowa 6, but it won't fit the Super 66. james___
Try Ross Yerkes in LA. His ad is in the Shutterbug magazine.
scott_johnston
I recently had ross yerkes (L.A. based kowa master) replace the stock focusing screen with the maxwell for $125. There is a more expensive model ($250), but this one really made a difference, especially indoors. Highly recommended --seeing a bright image just makes using the camera so much more enjoyable and less fatiguing. And I thoroughly recommend ross yerkes for any/all kowa service. I had an awful experience with camera wiz (VA) before having ross rescue the botched repair job and put my super 66 in outstanding condition. I will now be using it with full confidence in my magazine assignments to augment my 35mm (F100) work.
maurice_bryant2
Thanks Scott; But, I have since sold the Kowa (cash was low and I started looking around the house for stuff to raise funds with). Now that I'm working regularly I may cast a glance at another Kowa 66. God bless you with all the magazine assignments you may need. Sincerely,Maurice
