Cleaning an EOS 300v

Hi,

 

I've got some dirt on in my EOS 300v, and it looks like it's behind

the focus screen (mirror bit with the focusing points on it).

Wouldn't be too worried about it except its two spots and its black,

at a glance almost looking like one of the focust points. I can't

seem to blow it out (because I think it's gone behind the screen).

 

Has anyone else come across this problem, and any ideas on how to

clean it ?

 

As a last resort, I'll send the camera to be cleaned, but even with

a proper clean, I'm not sure if this will fix it.

You can get it cleaned. Canon might even do it as a warranty repair if it's new. The problem is, it will just happen again. The spots won't be in the same places next time, but you will get spots. It's the nature of the beast. Happens all the time.

And as the spots are on the focussing screen they won't affect image quality in the least.
