s._misra
I have been using a beanbag draped over my (fully lowered) car window to shoot wildlife. Overall, this provides effective camera support. My only gripe is that I am forced into an uncomfortable sitting position with the window fully lowered. As a remedy, I have tried keeping the window partial raised, and resting the beanbag on the partially raised window. This makes sitting in the car, and looking through the viewfinder, much more comfortable. The problem is that the partially raised window is quite narrow, and all the "beans" flop to one side or other of the window, making the beanbag virtually useless. Has anyone found a solution to this problem?
michael_hohner
My solution was to fill in more beans.

shaun westlake
Don't have any personal experience with it but this is something I would like to have: http://www.kirkphoto.com/supports.html#windowmount
lachaine
How about a 12 inch or so long piece of foam pipe insulation you can get at hardwares, etc. Cut a slit along the length of it, and then just slip it over your window. You won't even need the beanbag that way.
s._misra
Thanks for the suggestions. This last idea sounds promising. I'll give it a try.
douglas_greenberg
I have a beanbag that is designed to fit over the window, kind of a two beanbag joined together design. It works really well. It's called a "Hugger," and it was made by Kirk Enterprises. I guess they don't make these currently, but it's one of the most useful gadgets I have ever purchased. douglas_greenberg
Check this out: http://www.kinesisgear.com/r.html It describes the "SafariSack" beanbag, which might be just what you are looking for, since Kirk no longer makes the Hugger beanbag.
