matt_haffner
i've been looking for a plaubel makina w67 for some time now, and haven't had much luck. either they are not in the condition i want or they are far overpriced, (i'm a bit nervous about the ebay thing) alot of money to spend on not a sure thing and the possibility of not being able to return it. if there are any suggestions or places i can look anyhting would be helpful. thanks. matt haffner matthaff@att.net
andrew_schank
That is a pretty rare camera, especially in excellent condition, and will command a steep price whereever you'll find one. The trick to e-bay is to stick with the sellers that are in it for the long haul and have lots of positive feedback. Most will allow you to return an item if it does not match the item description. Ask before you bid and save the e-mail. I checked last year, and those cameras were not any cheaper in Asia either.
andrew_schank
http://www.lensrepro.com/USED/usedsb199.htm These guys have a 67W currently listed for $2150. That seems to be about as cheap as I have seen one.
ken_munn
Matt - why? There are other, newer alternatives like the Fuji GW670 which are excellent cameras, new, under warranty, don't have the potential problems of a bellows, lens panels going out of parallel, or meters being off. And they are half the price of a 30 year Plaubel. Much as I'm an admirer of classic kit, buying something like a Plaubel as a 'user', when there are good modern alternatives, seems to make no sense. Of, course, if you want to put it on a shelf and admire it, different criteria apply.

jmaio
I've heard Plaubel Makina is still in production in Germany only not being imported to the USA. Is this true? Thanks JMaio

stwrtertbsratbs5
The Fuji GW670 III is a lot of camera for a lot less money . . if you can live with a slower lens. Good luck! Robert
