michael_phlin_jahapne
Hi gang, I found an old electric "duel action" rotary agitator in my friends basement and it works. I beleive its made by omega. well, I was thinking that it could spin expert drums a lot cheaper than a jobo device. Anyone know if this would work? thnks Thursty
william_whitaker1
It'll work, although the drum will tend to work its way off of the rollers. You can place jugs or something substantial at each end of the drum to limit its travel. You may find that the rotation is too fast for some processes, especially if you're using a pyro developer. I tried this myself, but became frustrated. I then resorted to the JOBO roller base to turn the drum by hand. It's cheap, simple and very effective.<P> Regards,
eric_boutilier_brown1
This works fine, I've processed hundreds of runs of 4x5 and 8x10 negs on a Beseler base, without a problem. The only thing you really need is a funnel with a bend in it (from an automotive supply shop) for pouring in the chemistry. Highly recommended. robert_davis2
Search the Jobo website they have a small page on this. I use a 2500 series tank on a motor and it's great.
aaron2
If the Omega agitator you have is the one that rock side to side while it rolls, you are likely to get substantial uneven development on both sides of the film edges.
