Question on Rodenstock Rodagon 80/5.6 Enlarging Lens

I picked this up recently at a local flea market. Not very familiar

with this lens and hope someone can answer this question. When I

turn the f-stop ring/bezel, I noticed there were no click stops or

detents, it just turns freely. However, when I push up on the

bottom of the lens, it seems to click up in place and I then have the

detents at each f-stop position. Is the lens just broken, i.e.,

should I be able to push it up and pull down, or is this normal for

this type lens?

You have an older design that was discontinued several years ago in favor of the 80mm f4.

You will also find that it probably has a pre-set aperture mechanism as well as illuminated

aperatures.

If you would like to know how old the lens is then send me your serial number.
