What kind of Arca-Swiss?

Hi!

Could someone perhaps tell me anything about this old

Arca-Swiss. How old is it, model etc. The serial number in

unfortunately unreadable. I have had it for nearly 15 years and I

was suddenly curious.

Just to add to what Frank has said;

 

The axis/base tilt model was referred to as the DP (dual pivot?). I have the same model as yours with that type of knob, so I think that it�s an earlier version, with original knobs. Mine clearly never had a serial number, but there�s a space for one! Finally Arca Swiss can supply replacement bellows, which are the current production models, mounted in the older style frames. Bit of a "me-too", but I have the B model (with what I now assume are the later model knobs) Mine does not have a serial number either which caused me some concern, but as it came from a reputable dealer I gave them the benefit...

 

Used spare parts such as lens boards are available from dealers and on ebay from time to time. Despite obviously having had a hard life in a studio (judging by all the scratches) mine is still as tight as a nut and smooth as silk (apologies for the cliches!) and I remain well pleased with my purchase a year later and see no reason to "upgrade" for the forseable future.
