jim_rice3
It's the only film I've shot for the past few years. The reviews on the 100F are decidedly mixed. I would love more forgiving reciprocity properties, but i'm thinking I should probably hang with RVP. Should I be worried about Fuji dropping it? -j

don_miller2
My understanding is that Fuji is not going to drop the older version. I don't think you can judge this film without shooting it in your style. It's not as saturated but that doesn't make it 'better' or 'worse'. I'm about to do some testing comparing contrast when pushed in low light for the purpose of increasing contrast. The speed and reciprocity characteristics are very nice for LFers. But it's long exposure filter needs are different so that's something else we will need to figure out. I'm thinking I will carry both types and drop the Provia. d._kevin_gibson
I understood there were two versions of Velvia 100 in Japapn - 100 and 100F, with only the latter coming to the West. BTW I recently shot some 4x5 sheets - quite nice, stronger saturation, but not overly so - certainly not as much as in 50. More shadow detail, but not as much as the E100G I was shooting side by side with it. Probably about the same as Provia 100 (which I happen to detest..) - "nicer" colours than Provia, but a touch more contrasty.
ken_itoh
Velvia 100 (not 100F) LF film is not available even in Japan. 35mm and 120/220 only.
