Aoresteen
What is the lens flange distance of the Pentax 6x7? I've seen two values given and I'm not sure which is correct; 84.95mm and 74.10mm are the values that I found on the net. Thanks! Tony
douglas_green1
Off hand, I don't know, but here's how to do a quick check: Set your camera to MLU, and do a Bulb exposure. While the shutter is open, drop a tape measure down there and look at the reading. It won't be extremely accurate, but it will allow you to pick which of those two numbers is the correct one. Aoresteen
Thanks, but I don't have a 6x7 camera.
shambrick007
What a coincidence Anthony. I was just wondering the same thing a few hours ago! What do you have in mind? I was thinking about home-brewing a long focus lens using a process camera lens, a helical extension tube (for focus), and another length of tube. leonardo 144
The technical drawing of the Super Takumar 150mm/F2.8, showing a flange distance of 85mm can be seen by clicking on my name and viewing the "most recent upload".

Aoresteen
Thanks! It must be 85.00mm to the film pressure plate and 84.95 to the front edge of the film (.05mm film thickness).
NetR
Hi. The figure of 74.10mm is for a Pentacon 6 or Kiev 60 camera. Regards, Ross
