nom
A member of this forum recently posted a picture of a Canon G5 with the Leica SF-20 flash attached. I would like to know his experience on this combination, especially if the voltage of the flash is safe for the camera. I would like to try my CF flash on it. Anybody else's experience would be very welcome too.
joe_murphy1
I can't say if it's "safe," butthe SF20 works well on my G2. I can't seem to eliminate red-eye when I use the G2's built-in flash--but the small Leica unit does a great job on this camera.
oliver_s.
According to this list, The CF isn't completely risk-free. Consider a Wein Safe Sync.
chris_henry1
There isn't the same contact pattern on the Canon hotshoe and the Leica SF-20. That being said, I tried the very thing today with my SF-20 on auto setting and my G2 Powershot, and it worked pretty well. And nothing got fried.
