todd_phillips1
I have just seen a blurb in the Professional Photographers magazine the Rollei is launching a AF camera. Has anyone seen/held one? How does it compare to Hassy H1 or ContaxAF? Price (shudder)??? New AF lenses are by Schneider.
michael_hanisch
Hmm, I haven't heard any new announcements, but there already is an auto-focus camera by Rollei - the 6008 AF; there has also been a thread on this camera in this forum.
Is this the camera you've heard about, or have there been any new announcements (new model, etc.)? todd_phillips1
Mike---yeah, that's the camera. Thanks for the thread! I'll be attending a photo coonvention soon and maybe they'll have one there.
gregory_goh
Seen it in HK, handled one with the standard lens. price aboutHKD 46,000 roughly USD5,500. I found the H1 (which I bought in preference) to be better handling, though I accept that this is a personal choice - I always found the Rollei's to be hard to hold even with the handgrip. I also noted that the LCD display is quite hard to read (for me) and using the older non AF lenses, the focues confirmation was consequently hard to determine. No direct experience with the lens though if it is up to the usual Schneider quality there should be no complaints.
michael_kravit
My Rollei 6008 AF is a dream camera. Very easy to hold, shoot and the AF is very quick and accurate with the Schneider Xenotar 80/2.8 Af. I have owned this camera for almost a year now and it is a work horse. Display is not like the 6008i "red lights". It is a LCD type display that is easy to read. When using non AF lenses, the display provides two arrows to tell you in which direction to turn the focus ring. <-- [ o] --> Mike
hyper_focal
Mike, I just purchsed the 6008 AF with the 80mm AF lens. Can you please give me any guidance to which of the non AF lenses have you been able to utilized? Regards
