jerry_lehrer
Gentlemen Is there a T adapter made, or available to mount a mirror lens to a R4 Leica? My local shops don't have any. Jerry
al_kaplan1
The Leicaflex T-mount adapter will fit the Leica R camera's flange. I would assume that somebody still makes them. Maybe somebody here on the forum has a spare?
peter_mcdonough
Hi Jerry, There is. I had the T adapter for Tamron's 17mm lens. I used it on my R-8. Try B&H. Peter
Rob F.
Also, there is a 500mm Leica mirror lens.
steven_fong2
Yes there is/are. I have one made (or marketed) by Raydawn. I use it to fit an R4 on to the lab. microscope. Have not tried using it for T-mount lenses though. Hope this helps. Cheers.
doug herr
Unless the T-mount adapter has a nul cam for the R4's meter you'll have to apply a bit of exposure compensation. My R4sP requires +1.5. I may have a spare T-mount.
alex_ferraris
Hama (the german accessory firm) has one specifically for the R: article # 30713 (www.hama.de). Unfortunately the product description page is in german only and I don't know if you can order directly. You can find it entering the # in the search (suche) field. Hope this helps Alex
fotografz
Even though the Leica R Mirror was (I believe) made by Minolta, I can attest that it is one of the better 35mm ones I've ever used in terms of color saturation...if you don't mind the donut shaped highlights. james_elwing
Well, yes there was, as everybody says. Does anybody know if they made a YS mount, similar to a T but able to carry aperture info and shut down the aperture? (for a Leicaflex or R)
al_kaplan1
I have no idea about the YS but there was a T-4 Leicaflex SL mount for Auto Vivitar and Soligor lenses. It had a single cam for the SL series (the "second" cam in Leitz lingo) and in addition to working with T-4 mount lenses would also work with the later TX interchangeable mount optics. I had a 105/2.8 T-4 and a 24/2.8 TX, and my clients never complained that they weren't Leitz. Modern Photography magazine gave both great ratings. james_elwing
Apparently YS was made for Sigma and Sun lenses, both pretty cheap & cheerful in the 1970's. I have a Sigma 18 f3.5 and 135 f1.8, and a Polaris (no. 000052, or something like that; wow) 135 f1.8, both YS. Each could be screwed into a T2 mount & used with manual shutdown.
