leica ron
As far as I understand it, the latest Sironar-N lenses have a green stripe, the latest Sironar-S lenses have a red stripe, but when did Rodenstock lenses go from no stripe to white-strip and then on to green or red ? I know that Kerry Thalmann wrote an article on these lenses in a past issue of View Camera, but it was before I started buying this publication. As I don't have a subscription (my mail man treats my mailbox like a shreader) I can't access the archives. Thanks in advance ...
bob_salomon
When they introduced the Apo Sironar S they phased in the stripes as they remade lenses. Not all lenses had stripes at the same time as there were still non-striped lenses in the supply chain. Today all have stripes.
c_p_goerz
Wish I could help but I'm only familiar with yellow spots and brown stripes, neither of which has ever appeared on a Rodenstock. CP Goerz.
