Block/Delete 'Recent Images' opening page on IOS?

I seem to have successfully blocked the page on the Mac desktop, but is it possible to block while on iphone ios? I'm tired of these unknown scummers here blasting the opening Recent Images page with photos of their ghastly girlfriends.

Try going to the Photo.net home page, scroll down to the very bottom and click on theme then select PhotoNet No Sidebars v.2.1.  Seems to work.  If enough people identify something as Spam, regardless of type, I will discuss action with the other moderators.   Please let me know if it works for you.

Thanks Sandy, my phone was already set correctly to 'no themes' and after cycling the phone on/off still no joy. I've blocked him, so might be good for the future images. 

I'm not 'the piano lady' yet hard to believe we're to this stage on this fine forum. that we have so little control. First thing this morning I whacked some ten spammer posts, and now this crap also. We've really become undervalued it seems.

I can only tell you that you cannot imagine the amount of "Normal" commercial spam.  My task before breakfast if William Michael or others haven't got it.  Censorship is a tough issue.  I prefer to defer to what the members want.

Yes I'm certain I've no idea how prolific all that really is. I'm against censorship generally, but it's hard to defend the photos I found on Recent Images. If the members could agree that the photos submitted must have at least some redeeming quality that would be a step forward, but I can't imagine ever getting agreement on this.

I understand, as explained to me by an "Apple Genius", this is an issue with the i-phone's capacity, "to see only" and thus "to only select some websites' default menu" .

The default theme at PN is with the sidebar.

So, if the above is correct information, this means from the Photo.net end there would need to be some update to accommodate, which seems unlikely, or from I-phone end an update to accommodate, which seems equally unlikely, and even if done, you'd probably be unlikely to buy a new i-phone just for that convenience, (only a guess about the last bit).

Thank you for bringing this feature to my attention - I was previously unaware of its existence. I have had a brief look at some of the images on show, and so far I have seen nothing that would bring a blush to the cheeks of either Mary Whitehouse or Antony Comstock. There is a section labelled 'Nude and Erotic', and another labelled 'Glamour'. Surely, those who access these areas do so in the full knowledge of what to expect.

If I am missing the point, I apologise, and would appreciate an explanation.

Thanks WM, that's likely the explanation, pre-determined settings - for our convenience...Hoping this last iphone here will die soon anyway, I don't have the discipline to throw it away.

Tony, I was objecting to images seen when opening P/n on an iphone in a section named 'Recent Images', not the larger group of categories B&W, Nature etc.

The problem with the new PN is that images posted in the Nude and Erotic gallery populate the "Recent Images" section of the PN homepage.  I personally don't really care, but having that for folks who use PN in more sensitive environments than me (like at work) may be reluctant to do so if those images appear on the PN Homepage and also on the sidebars of the Forums.

It seemed that the best way to change this is simply to not have those images populate the Recent Images sections.  No need to censor PN, unless something truly offensive is posted, as determined by the majority of Moderators.

Bingo! This is the solution but would require the cooperation of the owners - right?

Thanks for the clarification - I only open these links on my PC, with 'No Sidebars' selected, so have no idea how things differ on an iPhone, I'm afraid, but as I said, when I looked, there were no images that I felt might be unacceptable. Maybe I just hit a period when none had been posted.

Navigate to the PN homepage and scroll down to "Recent Images", the view that most new users would first get.  I don't have any issue with any of the images I see today (5:40 EST) but as a new potential PN subscriber, or someone in a public environment, it may not be the most user friendly look.

My PC is set up to go straight to the 'Forums' page, so I never get to see the 'Recent Images' link. This explains my ignorance of its existence.

This seems to have solved my problem.

Right now there is photo of a guy holding an erect penis on the front page of PN.  I am not making a value or artistic judgement about the image, but this should not be on the front page of this web site, as long as it's trying to attract users interested in photography.

The content provider didn't help things by posting the image in the Portrait gallery, but even if it was properly placed in the Nudes gallery, it could still be possible for it to be displayed on our front page.

I've tried every trick possible and still have it when I get on here. Whatever...Most of the photos are simply spammers/scammers with cameras, adding nothing to the daily mix.
