Everything seems to be working fine, but everytime I turn the camera on I get error message E05 on the LCD panel. In the instruction manual error 05 refers to "something obstructing the built in pop up flash operation", but in reality nothing was obstructing the pop up flash when I turn on the camera. My firmware version is 1.0.0. I was wondering if anyone else out there is experiencing the same problem, or knows how to resolve it? Any help is greatly appreciated. PuppyDigs Posted May 18, 2003 Share Posted May 18, 2003 All EOS 10D display the designation "EOS" on the LCD during boot. Ya know, like your computer displays Mac OS or whatever during boot. jaypaa Posted May 18, 2003 Share Posted May 18, 2003 The error EO5 is due to obstruction in path of the flash. I wonderthis happens when you are wearing a cap. The visor of the cap obstructs the opening of the fill flash. It happens to me all thetime when I am wearing a cap. Otherwise you have mechanicalobstruction. To those of you who are continually getting this error message upon switching on your camera, I would be willing to purchase your defective cameras. All error message numbers have the prefix "Err," e.g., Err04, Err05, etc. "EOS" is not an error message and "EO5" doesn't exist. Like "Sure Shot" or "Elf," EOS is merely the camera line designation. However, in my defense I must say that the answer to the original question is on page 16 of the owner's manual which, I believe, is included with each new EOS 10D.
