Portable Power with 10D

I am planning on taking a car trip next week and plan on using a

DC/AC converter (from the car cigarette lighter) to run my 10D

battery charger. I haven't found any info that would dissuade me

doing this. Any suggestions or warnings?

the only concern is if you are a smoker your ligher won't work :)

I guess this would be a good time to quit... you might want to look at the after market chargers for the 511 battery... there are lots of them and they way cheaper... i also recommend taking your regular charger along along just in case there is a problem - then you might be able to charge it a restaurant or something like that.

I have used DC/AC converters on camera batteries, laptops, cell phones and AA battery chargers. If you are a gadget guy, this is a good thing to have. Not yet used it on my 10D battery, but have used it on my S40 battery.

<p>My car has two outlets. One with a cigarette lighter and a second one that I use for charging my cellphone. I felt bad about not using the second one and considered taking up smoking. I guess I'll get myself a BP-511 DC charger instead.
