tim_cats
I cannot adjust the aperture in full manual mode! When I put the camera in full manual mode I cannot change the aperture. The main dial changes the shutter speed ok but the quick control dial does not change the aperture as I thought it was supposed to (manual page 86). If I turn the camera on in the full manual mode and turn the quick control dial it seems to do nothing. If I then press the shutter halfway turning the quick control dial will change the focus point. I've reset the camera to all default functions and it still happens. I've tried this with 3 different canon lenses and it happens on all 3 of them! I'm stuck! Any help? maureen_m
Uh, you do have the quick control dial turned on, don't you? This almost seems to be too simple to overlook!
tim_cats
Thanks but I wish it was that easy! Tried that - off and on and off and on - with each lens too!
melissa_eiselein
It should work. It does on my 10D. Perhaps you should take it back to the dealer for a checkup.
beauh44
Just wondering if the aperture changes in other modes, like AV?? Program?? Since the aperture's set in the lens, have you tried a different lens to see if the problem goes away? Perhaps tried the existing lens on a different body to see if the problem follows the lens? Knock on wood, my 10D's fine. Good luck!!
horst_santihanser
Tim, try C.Fn 13. There is a possibility to switch the funktion of the back side wheel. Good luck!
tim_cats
Thank you!Yes it CF13-3.That fixed it.I thought that clearing all "camera" settings would clear all "custom" functions as well but it apparently they are separate -clearing all "camera" settings does not clear all "custom" functions.
