Need Help with Minox 35ML Camera Repair - Part Placement and Purpose

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

I’m working on repairing my Minox 35ML camera and I’ve encountered a bit of a challenge. I have a part named (Aufzugsstange) in German, which translates to Lift Rod in English, and I’m not entirely sure how to properly reinstall it or what its specific function is.

I’ve uploaded some photos for reference. In the first photo, you’ll see the part in question. The second photo shows me holding the part for a better view of its size and shape. In the third photo, I’ve highlighted with a red arrow where the piece originally came from.

What I’m looking for:

    1.    Guidance on how to correctly place the Lift Rod back into its original position.
    2.    An explanation of the purpose of this part within the camera’s mechanism.

Any help or advice from those familiar with the Minox 35ML or similar cameras would be greatly appreciated. I want to make sure I reassemble it correctly and understand its function.

Thanks in advance for your assistance!

If this is a project to be attempted just because it exists, go for it. I wish you success. On the other hand, if the goal is to have a working Minox 35, MTC has already given the practical solution. The Minox 35 is an amazing go anywhere portable camera as far as design, but of unpredictable reliability.. Many Minox aficionados have successively replaced Minox 35s as they died. Such is the life of a Minox 35.:
