james_kennedy2
I just received a Canon t90 and noticed that it has a fairly vigorous mirror slap and no provision for mirror lockup, and, it seems that it takes a special cable attachment to boot. That being the case, and if I were shooting a slow exposure using tripod, wouldn't I get just as good results by using the time-delayed exposure (hands off) as by using a cable release, since in neither case can I lock the mirror up. pvp
Short answer: yes.<P> However, you lose the ability to exactly choose when the shot is taken, so if there's any action you won't be in control. Don't forget to close the eyepiece shutter if you aren't looking through the finder; stray light coming in via the finder will affect the meter and spoil exposures. scott_vogt1
Hi, the cable release for the EOS system (remote switch 60 T3) works on the T-90. That's what I use. It is kind of expensive though. You might be able to pick up the special attachment so that you can use a regular screw in cable release (the release screws into the attachment which then screws into the camera) on ebay or KEH. awahlster
It is a "Cable Release Adapter T3" it screws into the T3 socket on the bottom of the T90 and a std. cable release then screws into the adapter. They show up on ebay a lot. Not real expensive if I remember.
John Crowe
Mark is right, they are not too expensive. I have always just used the 10 second timer on mine. Unfortunately I pass up some of the nice little accessories to save and buy lenses! If I see the scene changing during a count down I will stop it and try again.
