Happy Thursday, July 13, 2023, to all Canon Shooters and Photography enthusiasts. 

Once again it is time for this week's Canon Photo Thursday.  I hope everyone is enjoying summer in the Northern Hemisphere and staying cool.  I am looking forward to seeing what the Canon photographers have this week. Let's inspire each other and possibly inspire future generations.

This is your chance to share your epic, fun, cool, and/or interesting photo with everyone here on PN. Show us your vision, your style, your projects, your travels, adventures, photo missions or just something you shot that captured your fancy. You all know the drill, post one, two, three, or more photos shot from your Canon EOS Camera (SLR or DSLR or Mirrorless. Was your camera made by Canon? If so, post your shots). All are welcome to participate. Late postings are welcome. If you miss Thursday, feel free to add to the thread another day. Looking forward to seeing your shots. Pick up the camera and shoot something. Even if you didn't get out this week, you know you have some blast from the past stashed in your archives. We have a lot of regulars here reading. Jump in and post. Show us your shots.  I know with the season everyone can get very busy. I would like to thank everyone who has been sharing in Canon Photo Thursday. It means a lot, making starting this thread every week worth wild. Thank you for your support.

As always, I truly appreciate the support of our Canon friends and shooters. It's nice not to be left hanging. Thank you, everyone who has been participating.

This week I have been playing with my Tilt/Shift lens. (Shooting with a Tilt/Shift is not required  to participate 🙂 shoot with what you want.) And one of the shots I played with the color and B&W in Lightroom. I know, a very old effect but I did it.

Tried using the Canon SD770 last week. The retractable lens cover broke off years ago, the battery door is missing, and the menus remain a mystery, but here's a few.

Mark, that TS-E 24mm was one of the first lenses I bought for the 10D close to 20 years ago!

The TS-E 24mm is one of my favorite lenses. It is a little bit more work with manual focus and not always playing nice with Auto ISO on my 5D MK IV. But I do like those lines it can give and darn sharp.

Mine is a little soft on one side, depending on how I rotate the base, but it's sharp enough. As far as auto exposure I think the manual suggests taking a reading before applying any movements because that will affect it.

Maybe a micro-adjustment? I have been trying to find the smallest usable f-stop diffraction limit of this lens in specs. Is it F/11 before diffraction sets in? My searches keep getting the MK II results. It's like most references to this old lens are gone and only the MK II specs come up. I have been playing between f 9 to f/14. Long day here, so apologies if my typing and thought process is off. Drove down to Big Sur and Picnicked on a cliff overlooking the ocean with my wife and the dog. 

 

I was wanting to say, have you played around with the latest enhancement features of Adobe Lightroom. The resolution and detail enhance and now AI noise removal are pretty cool, and as good as the 5D MK IV is, this takes the images to a new level.

I don't know what the diffraction limit is. I normally shoot at f/8 with my lenses and almost always set up the camera indoors on a tripod and run through the apertures focusing on a book case. F/8 normally is the winner just based on sharpness in the corners but I'll check that lens without shift to see if f/11 improves it.

I did use LR enhance on my flowers photo which was ISO 800. It made a big difference. I use the default enhance settings. 

Ah, you're in the stomping grounds of Saints Ansel and Weston! Bring out the 8x10!
