emotive69 Posted January 30, 2023 Share Posted January 30, 2023 Recent failure of a Canon flash has left me playing with some of my backups while I wait a few days for the CPS to repair the Canon. On trying out my Yongnuo YN 968 ex RT - i have an odd problem. Canon 5dmk4 turns on works fine when flash first placed on hotshoe ( flash off ) Camera and flash work fine when flash turned on ... When flash turned back off again Canon Camera stays in flash mode so stays at 1/200 etc and therefore camera fires off dark shots. As if the flash is still on. Everytime after that same problem occurs until I remove flash and start again. Have reset the flash checked all the settings and tried the flash on another camera and same problem. Any ideas if it could be fixed ( its not an expensive flash so dont mind fiddling - once its properly discharged ) thank you Andrew Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
rodeo_joe1 Posted January 31, 2023 Share Posted January 31, 2023 Does YongNuo give any facility for a firmware upgrade on that flash? If so, maybe there's a firmware revision available. Otherwise you're probably stuck with the issue. It sounds like some component is latching in the on state.
