Tony Parsons
Fascinating ! Although he was a professional, i have often thought that amateur photographers and camera / photo clubs should attempt to record changes taking place locally - and with electronic storage now, the oft-touted argument regarding storage space (which I have had from several museums !) would be irrelevant. Either that, or I am told 'We don't know what will be important in the future'. Edited January 7, 2023 by tony_parsons1

Anyone with that attitude shouldn't be an archivist. Coventry bus crew on a break, circa 1966.

That is true, but I fear that frequently such employment is given to people completely uninterested in the topic, as so often happens in Local Government with those entrusted with the protection of wildlife and associated habitats. To them, it is just a job, and not one which interests them or for which they are temperamentally suited.

Oh how true , in my country Local and National "government" frequently appoint unsuitable people 😖.

I've shown some of these on photo.net. Unfortunately the thing has lost momentum and I suspect that the archive will disappear, as stated, museums etc have no interest. A major issue being that we can't establish copyright.
